So how was your Saturday? Ours involved work, travel, family visits, more work, Senatorial debate, UT football, a hurt dog, and a one hour trip under the house to find the dead rat. You may have read how we traveled to D.C. and when we returned we found out that we had a rat in the house...well with the help of my father we found the holes that it had created to get in the house and we closed them securely, but not before we dropped some rat poison in the holes. We laid traps out in the kitchen for three days, but we never saw the rat again, so we prayed that we had securely kept it out of the house. Well for the past 3 days, Gerri said that she smelled something in the house, but I never could smell anything so we just ignored it. As any husband can tell you the wife can find smells that us mere mortals can never smell. But tonight after a very long day, when we got home I could smell it and it was strong. So after watching Corker debate Ford for the TN Senate seat, we suited up for a rat removal hunt. With my trusty sidekick, Gerri we head out to find the dirty rat and evict him from the property. Just getting under the house is a chore, but we both went under... ...and after an hour of searching and calming Gerri when the killer crickets almost ate her...we emerged victorious. We would like to thank Doug for supplying the sweatshirts as they proved handy as we battled the rodent. Gerri the warrior proved she is not afraid of the dark, the crickets, the wet, or the rat...you go girl.
